Is the number of African American students in phase 2A proportional to their numbers in SFUSD?

What will socializing look like on person? Will there be recess? Will kids be able to play together?

Is there any way to share the aggregate data from today's survey with SFUSD's community partners? This would be super helpful information for improving our services to families.

What is been done to accommodate students in Middle or High School who have IEPs but are finding it hard with distant learning? Are there pods or hubs for these students?

Hi Mauricha - For Phase 2A students can play together in small stable cohorts. So there would be recess together with the same small group students are also in class with. ,

The slides by Dr. Matthew re: progress towards opening seem unclear. For example, cleaning of schools is at 30% or more completed (color coding says that) but the data seems to be 25% or less completed. What safety measures are already implemented on site. What more steps are needed? Also, it says training of students & parents have been started. We have received no info/training from our schools re: safety measures.

Our teachers say that they are not equipped to answer the questions we have - they say they are waiting for the district. Why has there not been a strong statement of what needs to happen across the district - and for those who can do better, that is where there can be individualism?

The discrepancy between Reading Inventory scores is very startling - what is the district doing to increase reading levels for African American students?

Will there be additional SEL resources to respond to the shared trauma students have experienced during this time?

A little more information about my role: I am the elected president of United Educators of San Francisco, the union that represents 6500 educators, including teachers, paraeducators, counselors, security aides, school nurses, librarians, social workers, substitutes, psychologists, and wellness coordinators. I noticed that grades 3- 12 who are not on the priority list have not been included in the phases . How will SFUSD be able to support black families who needs a place for their kids to receive distance learning help due to being a DSW essential worker?

@Mr. Robinson, our most recent data was gathered by a survey before there was a vaccine, so I think it is safe to say that the percentage is higher than it was before. I also want to repeat that while about 4000 UESF members are teachers, there are 2500 other educators as well.
